The third concert of the seven cats contemporary music series will take place on Wednesday, August 17, 2011, 7:30p at the Community United Church of Christ in Boulder, CO. Seven Cats is based in Boston and this concert represents its first venture outside of the Hub. Six pieces exploring a variety of pianistic styles and aesthetic aims will be presented by pianist/composer Hubert Ho.

Seven Cats No. 2

The second concert of the seven cats music series will take place on Saturday, June 4, 2011, 4p at the lilypad in Cambridge, MA. Five pieces covering a variety of instrumental forces and aesthetics will be presented. Jeremy Van Buskirk's Aurora and Meditations are both introspective explorations of sound - one acoustic the other electroacoustic. Hubert Ho's Tremble was inspired by both the music of Poulenc and California earthquakes. Chao-Jan Chang's Virtuosity no. 2, hot off the press, is receiving its world premiere, and Richard Dudas' complete Sonata for clarinet and piano is receiving its American premiere as a complete three-movement work.

2:00 PM - 2:45 PM: SuperCollider Concert curated by Jeremy Van Buskirk
3:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Intermediate DSP, Networking and System Design in
SuperCollider
A workshop for intermediate users of SuperCollider who have worked
through the basic SC tutorials and are looking to build performance
systems. The workshop will be led by Jeremy Van Buskirk.
